Two's Company are Amy and Rob Chalmers. Amy studied the violin at Leeds University, achieving a BA (Hons) in music in 2000.
Amy
is an experienced performer in a variety of musical genres. Having been
in numerous string quartets over the years, she now plays violin in
the ‘Astbury Quartet’ at venues all over the North West.
Amy was a vocalist and violinist in the Wirral female duo, Vixen and
now sings regularly with the 10-piece
disco party outfit The Groovy Wonderband. She also sings and plays
electric violin in bands, Yer
Man and His Mates, Dream Legion and The Shambolix. Amy is currently
working on a solo project, writing and recording her own material.

Rob has years of experience playing the guitar in many different styles including folk, pop, soul and jazz. He had a spell with the Manchester University Jazz Orchestra and has played in many shows, including "Fame" at the Dancehouse Theatre Manchester. Rob has appeared at the Chester music festival with up-tempo folk act ‘Yer man and his Mates’ and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a contemporary rock/pop group. Rob also performs with The Groovy Wonderband.
Rob attended the Music department at York University where he qualified in 2002 with an MSc in Music Technology. Skills learnt here allow Rob to work as a sound engineer both at live events and in a recording studio.
After working together on various musical projects, Amy and Rob first teamed up as ‘Two’s Company’ in 2000 to perform instrumental and vocal pieces. We perform approximately 40 times a year as Two's Company both at private engagements and public concerts and have performed live on Radio Merseyside (see below).
You can often catch us playing at the First Thursday poetry evening
at Linghams book store, Heswall, and at the annual Summer Serenades
concert series at Birkenhead Priory and the Williamson Art Gallery.
We also perform annually at the Secret Gardens of Oxton event, organised
by the Oxton society.
